QUILLEN, Thomas J.

Rev. Thomas J. Quillen, aged eighty four years, died about six o’clock last Saturday of the infirmities of old age at the home of his son-in-law, William Patton, seven miles north of the city. The funeral occurred at eleven o’clock Sunday morning at the Mt. Pleasant Church, Rev. Mr. Brown, officiating. The interment was in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Mr. Quillen had been a leading United Brethren minister in the county for many years and was a man highly esteemed in the community. He leaves a second wife and eight grown children, James and George Quillen, of this city, being his sons. Mr. Quillen was a native of Indiana, being born in Green County. He came here at an early age and the memory of his useful life will remains as his monument in the minds of those who knew him. -s

Rev. Thomas Quillen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Patton, last Friday, aged eighty three years. He has been an invalid for several years. The funeral services were conducted Sunday at Mt. Pleasant by Rev. Brown. – thanks to S for this one
